The sketch proposal The Networkers was selected in the Art-in-Architecture competition for the expansion of the Fraunhofer Institute Center Schloss Birlinghoven in Sankt Augustin.

The project comprises a four-part sculptural ensemble in steel and bronze that unfolds across the grounds of the new Center for Intelligent Computing. Inspired by fiber optic cables, the forms emerge from the ground, wind around the architecture, and connect different areas of the site. Painted in tones of wine red, pink, and white, the elements evoke both technological infrastructure and organic, shifting bodies.

By translating an invisible network into a physical presence, the work reflects on connectivity, control, and the spatial manifestations of technological, social and political systems.

Der Entwurf The Networkers wurde im Kunst-am-Bau-Wettbewerb für die Erweiterung des Fraunhofer-Institutszentrums Schloss Birlinghoven in Sankt Augustin ausgewählt.

Das Projekt umfasst ein vierteiliges skulpturales Ensemble aus Stahl und Bronze, das sich über das Gelände des neuen Center for Intelligent Computing entfaltet. Inspiriert von Glasfaserkabeln wachsen die Formen aus dem Boden, winden sich um die Architektur und verbinden verschiedene Bereiche des Areals miteinander. In Weinrot-, Rosa- und Weißtönen gefasst, evozieren die Elemente zugleich technologische Infrastruktur und organische, sich verändernde Körper.

Indem ein unsichtbares Netzwerk in eine physische Präsenz übersetzt wird, reflektiert die Arbeit Konnektivität, Kontrolle sowie die räumlichen Manifestationen technologischer, sozialer und politischer Systeme.
