Published in collaboration with the ING Polish Art Foundation, the publication accompanies the exhibition, which was on view at the Silesian Museum from November 23, 2019, to May 3, 2020.

For 20 years, the Foundation has been collecting works by Polish artists born between 1922 and 1994, including both established and emerging contemporary artists. The collection is presented in numerous exhibitions across various galleries and museums. This exhibition was created in collaboration with Marek Pokorny, curator and director of the Plato Gallery in Ostrava.

It is based on two main themes: first, on nature, the protection of nature, questions and speculations about the future, and the changes that ecology must bring; second, on the box-like narrative characteristic of Jan Potocki’s The Manuscript Found in Saragossa, which allows a variety of individual stories to be brought together in one space and connected into a whole.

Die Publikation besteht aus drei beschreibenden Teilen, die mit Reproduktionen von Werken aus der Sammlung der Stiftung illustriert sind. Am Ende finden Sie eine Liste aller ausgestellten Werke.

Die gemeinsam mit der ING Polish Art Foundation herausgegebene Publikation begleitet die Ausstellung, die vom 23. November 2019 bis zum 3. Mai 2020 im Schlesischen Museum zu sehen ist.

Seit 20 Jahren sammelt die Stiftung Werke polnischer Künstler der Jahrgänge 1922 bis 1994, darunter etablierte und aufstrebende zeitgenössische Künstler. Die Sammlung wird in zahlreichen Ausstellungen in verschiedenen Galerien und Museen präsentiert. Diese Ausstellung entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit Marek Pokorny, Kurator und Direktor der Galerie Plato in Ostrava.

Es basiert auf zwei Hauptthemen: Erstens auf der Natur, dem Schutz der Natur, Fragen und Spekulationen über die Zukunft, über die Veränderungen, die die Ökologie mit sich bringen muss; zweitens auf der für Jan Potockis „Das in Saragossa gefundene Manuskript“ charakteristischen Kastenerzählung, die es ermöglicht, eine Vielzahl einzelner Geschichten in einem Raum zusammenzuführen und sie zu einem Ganzen zu verbinden.
